We were able to deliver the supplies and food from local USD 458 schools to Basehor Linwood Assistance Services. The students did an amazing job of showing generosity, and we transported over 5000 items from 6 schools to BLAS. We love seeing community supporting neighbors!

Club Members Eric and Becki hand out treats to the trick-or-treaters!
The kids showed out in their fun costumes for this City of Basehor Parks & Rec event, and we were there to sweeten their walk with some candy and oranges! One of our causes is health and nutrition, so we wanted to give out fruit (in addition to a candy bar!) to balance out the sugar-sweet treats just a bit. We also loved the walking element, because kids got in some exercise and enjoyed the new trails around Basehor.
Club Members Becki, Arlene, Laura, Paul, Shannon, Sara, Kathy, and Robin ready to walk the route!
It was a lot of fun seeing the community while we handed out Rice Krispie Treats along the parade route! Then we walked it again at the end to clean up the candy mess to keep our community clean and the High School kids moving on to their next activity instead of having to stick around to clean up.

Club Members Cary, Yvonne, and Arlene prepping popcorn.
This event was rescheduled to a Saturday because of rain, but still ended up being a lot of fun! We got kids and families plenty of popcorn while they looked at the muscle cars around the lawn and then watched the Cars movie.
Club Members Sara (President), Arlene, Trent, Eric, Robin (Board Member), Kathy (Treasurer), and Ashley (Board Member).
We always have fun when we go to the Nest for our Happy Hours! We got in some good conversations and caught up on each others lives. We also chatted through a few upcoming events that area clubs are having, and talked a little more about the Trail project we're working on to encourage literacy for children that are Kindergarten and younger. We hope to make some more progress on that project soon!

Local kids had a great time watching Moana, and we had fun handing popcorn out to them! The best flavor combo request for the evening had to have been kettle corn, buffalo wing, and ranch. It was also fun to see all the energy as kids ran from pre-movie fun over to the park and back.

Local first-graders at Basehor Elementary School (BES) set individual goals to shape how they wanted to grow in their final quarter, and then we celebrated their achievements with them by handing out award certificates to the ones who met their goals, and bumper stickers and ice cream floats (in special Terrific Kids cups) to everyone! We handed out 65 helmets and had a wonderful time sitting out in the fresh air and listening to kids playing at the Civic Campus Park and Splash Pad. We're looking forward to seeing our helmets around as people cycle safely in Basehor!

Our World Book Day celebration took us to 7 local schools, where we donated a total of 25 books between all the schools! Kids who enjoy reading early on are more likely to succeed later in life. That’s why we worked to get books into their hands, because a love of reading can change everything.
